Exchanged!

I decided to post pictures of all the ornaments sent to me and sent back out. Thank you all for making this year's exchange a success. Do you want to do one in the summer, too, or just at Christmas?

This is the ornament I made and sent to Diana in the Netherlands.

Nic's ornament went to Linda.

Madonna' ornament went all the way to Kirsi in Thailand.

Linda's ornament went out to Amy.

Kirsi's ornament was sent to Margaret.

I kept Diana's ornament.

Margaret's ornament went to Madonna.

And Amy's ornament went across the pond to Nic.

Ornament Exchange from Michele

Oh my goodness! I just received this stunning exchange from Michele today. She stitched an ornament that I actually have kitted up to stitch for a friend right now - LOL - so that surely makes it a great choice. And it is finished so beautifully... on top of that, look at all the treats! Even DH and the cats got treats in this amazing package! You spoiled me rotten, rotten, rotten! Thank you so much Michele! {{{HUGS}

Time To Start!

Yes, it's time to dust off the needles and start stitching. Remember, ALL kinds of needlework are allowed here, so be creative and go outside your box. Remember too, though, that this is a gift and you put your best work into gifts. I am changing a rule or two as I take over. I discussed this with Simone, and she said to go ahead.

First, to participate, you need to send your name, address, and email address to me at losthermarbles at gmail.com. If I don't get it by October 15th, you can't participate. I'm going to be a bit stringent about that - I'll be out of town and then out of commission until the first week of November after that date.

Second, if you've already participated, you have a choice to make! You can either be paired with someone specific OR mail your ornament to me and be surprised by who it will go to. If you have never participated before, you MUST mail your ornament to me with a return envelope. I will pay postage to get an ornament to you. This is to prevent problems with things not showing up on time or at the right place. I want to make certain that everyone who sends an ornament receives one. Period. If you do not live up to your obligation to send one, you will be blacklisted unless you can convince me that you had a problem AND you tell me before the mailing date. If you're not going to be able to mail it on time, you should know the day before. Mailing date for this exchange is November 20th.

I'm probably going to seem more strict to you than Simone was. If I am, blame me and not her! She did this hard work through three exchanges and deserves a break and a hearty thank you.

If you want this group to grow, add the link to your blogs or mention the exchange on your blogs. Maybe someone new will read it and be interested.

So lets have some fun and start stitching!

Meg is going to take over!

I had some contact with Meg after the announcement that I wanted to quit the Ornie exchanges.
Meg volunteerd to take it over! So the Xmas ornies are staying!
I'm very happy that Meg wants to continue the blog. I'm sure she soon will start a new exchange.
In the mean time I'll try to get the last 4 ornies at their receivers.

Thank you all for joining the exchanges. I'm sure Meg will do a great job on the next one!

hugs, Simone

End of the ornie exchanges

I've decided to quit with the Xmas ornie exchanges... With the first exchange I had to chase some people behind their buds to get their ornaments in the mail. And from the Xmas in July are also 4 ornaments still missing. I'm getting tired of it!
I will make sure that these last 4 ornaments will be received by their new owners, at last. But I'm not going to organize a new exchange!

Is their anyone who wants to take over the blog? Please contact me.
Otherwise I will delete it in a while...

I'm sorry, but I'm very disappointed! And I think I can spent my time better on stitching...
For those of you who did sent their ornaments in time: Thank you!

Hugs, Simone

have not received

I've not gotten my ornament yet. :((

My exchange to Monique

I've heard that my ornie has been received, so I thought I'd show some pictures.

Monique, my recipient, doesn't have a blog, so it wasn't easy deciding on something to make, so I decided to try something new, and made a felt ornament from a book I bought when a nearby LNS closed. I made it a little jazzier than the original design called for, and did more stitching rather than use Bondaweb, and I really enjoyed the whole thing!

I can feel a whole host of little felt ornies might be in my future...

This exchange is going rather well!

Girls, I'm happy how everything is going with this exchange! Only 3 ornaments that still have to be sent (and I have contact with those senders) and 10 left to be received.
It's a lot better than the first exchange! I think it does help a lot that it's not Holiday season ;)
I'm already thinking about a new ornie-exchange... "It's never early enough for Christmas" ;) But I'll come back to that later!

Hugs, Simone

Hello, I would like to Ina for the wonderful package that I received in the mail, a box full of goodies, Thank you so much Ina!!!! I will try to post picture later, Susan Locke

My ornament arrived!

Here is my lovely exchange from Valerie - it was great to get such a sweet ornament by one of my favourite designers!

I enjoyed all the other bits and pieces too - the very funny card, cute chart, festive fabbie and threads, needles in my preferred size (28s! yay!) and not forgetting the chocolate - which I have been very restrained with and not eaten yet!

Valerie says that this is her first ornament finish - I'm not sure I believe her, it is so neat! LOL - it has been finished in a similar way to a pin keep, which is great for me as I will be able to display it on my shelves come Christmas time. Thank you so much, Valerie!

I'm getting a bit anxious though about the ornament I mailed out - it should be there by now...

It's in the mail

I mailed out a package to my partner today. I enclosed some extra goodies that i have been collecting for her. Hope she likes it.

Exchange received from Ruth B

My exchange arrived from Ruth in LA today.  Ruth stitched a very pretty holly ornament which she fringed and backed with felt. Isn' t that pretty?  She also enclosed two lots of finishing fabric, three skeins of threads and some cute buttons. Thank you Ruth - a lovely exchange.

And thank you Simone for arranging this exchange.

Oops I Did It Again...

I forgot to post that I sent my ornament out on July 1st. I hope that my partner likes it and the other goodies that I enclosed along with it.

I've fallen behind on this exchange. I have no excuse except laziness. LOL I kept putting it off and putting it off, realized Tuesday that I had only a few days left to get my partners ornament stitched. All I have left is the back stitching and the finishing. I'm so sorry for the delay. The ornament should be in the mail tomorrow.

Ornament from Simone

Here's the lovely ornament I received from Simone. Id like to know the designer - will you tell us that Simone? Anyway it's finished like a pinkeep in a wonderful triangular shape with ribbon around the edge that says "Happy Holly Days!"

Here's the entire package.

Thanks so much for your gifts Simone. The ornament will make a great addition to my tree this year! And thanks too for organizing this exchange. Much easier (less pressure) to stitch ornaments in July!

Thank you very, very much Anita!

Lovely snowguy from the Netherlands! =D

Yaaaaaay!

I got a dear pack from Elza, at the Netherlands! She made me a cute snow fellow, finished as a pinkeep and included a beautiful post card from Harlingen and a kit for me to make cross stitch cards. Oh, sweetie! Thank you!I love it all! =D

I was, deep in my heart, hoping you could be my sender, because Elza is the name of my mother, and nothing bad can come from someone with that name, and guess what? I was right!=)

Thank you, Simone, for running this swap. You are the best!

I am about to finish my ornament. If you girls take a look at my previous post on my blog, you´ll know I had to take some time off from needles, but could not let my partner down. For you, secret friend, I am making something that I hope you enjoy as much as I enjoyed the parcel from Elza.

Much love,

Janaina.
